Little Saints 2010-2011 Online Registration

Registration for Sunday morning nursery care and 2, 3 and 4-year old Sunday School classes is newly available online. Go to www.allsaintsatlanta.org. Click on Formation and then click on Children's Formation on the far right. You will see a yellow box with an underlined "click here" where you will be linked to register your child (children) for Sunday morning.

For those of you who were here last year, you will recall that we have previously filled out and turned in paper forms. It is very exciting that we have this available online this year as will it will help the church develop a database, so that you will not have to re-register your child in the future.

This is a QUICK and EASY process, so please do not delay and register early (today!), so that we can have an accurate list of all children, birth through pre-K in our Little Saints program by the start date, Sunday, September 12th.

The 2010-2011 program year looks like this:

8:30-12:30 traditional nursery care for children birth through pre-K.
8:30-9:15 arrival, drop-off and greet
9:15-9:35 Little Saints Church (for 3's and 4's) & Sunday School for 2's
9:35-10:05 Sunday School and snack for 3's and 4's.

Wandering Ministrels will again provide music for all children in the common area between the services. We continue to seek youth interested in supporting this ministry. If you have a musical gift or just love singing or playing an instrument, your support of this program is welcome as well.

The classrooms this year will look like this:

Infants (newborns to walkers)
Walkers (walking to turning 2)
Twos (children who have turned 2 during the program year)
Threes (children who have turned 3 prior to 9/1/2010 and who will turn 4 after 9/1/2010)
Fours (children who have turned 4 prior to 9/1/2010)

Thank you for registering! We welcome ideas to continually improve the programming for our Little Saints. Please feel free to comment here or join us for our next committee meeting tentatively scheduled for Sunday, October 17th at 4pm in the Horseshoe Room on the third floor of Egleston Hall.

Be well,

New Program Year, New Name

I hope everyone had a wonderful summer. We spent much of the summer in the pools around Decatur and both kids seemed to grow as fast as the front lawn. Paul started Pre-K last week and I am sure many of you are reaching some milestones as well.

We have changed our name to the Little Saints Foyer Group to reflect our connection to the Little Saints program that is currently being created at All Saints. The Little Saints program is comprised of all the opportunities and events geared towards children aged infant to pre-K at All Saints. Our foyer group will still be comprised of casual get-togethers several times a year.

Our next Little Saints Foyer Group will be Saturday, September 18, from 10AM-12PM at All Saints. We will be using the playground and for those new to the nursery we can open up the Pritchett Center for a short tour of the building. Let us know if you and your family can make it. Contact bluefrilingos@juno.com.

Volunteers Needed
Junior Children's Church will now be known as Little Saints Church and as always people are needed to lead both the story and worship in the common room and the activity planned for 3 & 4 year old classes.

We also need people who are willing to volunteer as Red Aprons prior to the 9AM or 11:15 service to help welcome all our Little Saints and especially help newcomers find the right place for their little saint. This position is very rewarding and volunteers can make it to the service as well.

All of these volunteer positions are rotating so you will not be needed every week.
If you are interested in volunteering and have not already been contacted please send an email to bluefrilingos@juno.com as soon as possible. We are scheduling for the fall right now, so don't delay. This is a great opportunity to get godparents involved if you are bold enough to ask.

Also, if you you or somebody you know likes singing, playing instruments (guitar, banjo, fiddle, etc.) we really want to add to the Wandering Minstrels this fall. They perform on program weeks starting around 10:30AM and go for about 15-20 minutes. Songs and music will be provided. This is important not only for the little saints, but newcomers especially appreciate that all ages are welcomed to the sing-a-long.

Coming Up at All Saints
There is a lot coming up at All Saints and I want to highlight a few things that you won't want to miss:

On Sunday, August 22nd, there will be a blessing of the backpacks at the 9AM service. If your kids take a backpack to pre-school or pre-K, this is a great event for them.

Cherub choir (open to children age 4 by September 1st, 2010) begins Wednesday, August 25 from 4PM to 4:30PM and continues weekly.

Also starting on August 25, a parenting class is being offered in the evening. You can read more of the details here.

Men's Supper: Low Country Boil, Sunday, August 29-This has become an annual tradition and it would be great to get a lot of fathers with young children out this year. You can learn more about the event and sign up for it here. The evening commences with Evening Prayer in the chapel.

Of course, there is much more coming up. Check the website and Sunday bulletin regularly. We will continue to draw your attention to significant dates as they approach.

Hope to see you soon on a Sunday morning or other upcoming event. Be well.
